About the role:

We’re looking for a passionate and energetic Bakery Store Manager to take the lead in creating an exceptional experience for every customer who walks through our doors. In this role, you’ll inspire and motivate your team to deliver outstanding service, maintain top quality products, and keep the bakery running smoothly behind the scenes.

As our Bakery Manager, you’ll take full ownership of your store from team development and inventory management to financial performance and food safety standards. This role calls for a proactive, people focused leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, driving sales, and building a positive, welcoming atmosphere. What you’ll do:

  • Lead, inspire, and develop the bakery team to deliver exceptional customer service and uphold company values through clear direction, coaching, and regular performance feedback.
  • Drive operational excellence by effectively managing workforce planning, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture, whilst recognising and rewarding performance.
  • Oversee daily bakery operations, including baking schedules, workflow planning, inventory management, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, health & safety, and company policies, maintaining accurate records and audit documentation.
  • Monitor product quality and operational performance, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and uphold brand standards.
  • Create a welcoming and engaging bakery environment that delivers an exceptional customer experience and embeds service excellence into team culture.
  • Handle customer feedback and escalated issues professionally, using insights to drive continuous improvement and build customer loyalty.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance and trends to forecast demand, optimise stock levels, and identify opportunities to maximise revenue.
  • Manage budgets effectively by controlling costs, minimising waste, and supporting profitable growth through strategic promotions and upselling initiatives.
  • Manage ordering, supplier relationships, and stock control to ensure product quality, accurate inventory, and minimal waste.
  • Deliver effective in-store promotions and visual merchandising that align with brand strategy, enhance presentation, and drive sales.

  • Proven leadership experience in a managerial role, preferably in a retail or hospitality environment. 
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. 
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team effectively 
  • Dedicated to delivering excellent service that exceeds customer expectations 
  • The ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations in a fast-paced environment.
