About the role:
We're looking for a driven and commercially minded Acquisitions Manager to identify, evaluate, and secure new roadside development opportunities across Scotland. Playing a key role in our ambitious growth strategy, you'll help expand our network of petrol filling stations, EV charging hubs, and branded food-to-go destinations. This role is responsible for managing the full acquisition lifecycle, from identifying potential sites and building relationships with landowners and agents, through to negotiating agreements and supporting projects through the development process. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on building relationships, spotting opportunities, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
As the role involves regular travel across Scotland and site visits, candidates should be based within a reasonable commuting distance of the region.
What you’ll do:
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate freehold and leasehold roadside sites suitable for petrol, EV, and food-to-go developments.
- Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, agents, developers, and local authorities to generate a strong acquisition pipeline.
- Conduct site appraisals, including title checks, access rights, environmental and planning constraints.
- Prepare financial models with our finance and operational teams.
- Negotiate heads of terms, purchase agreements, and leases to optimise commercial value.
- Work collaboratively with finance, legal, planning and operational teams to progress deals to completion.
- Build strong relationships with key external stakeholders including planning authorities, highways agencies, and JV partners.
- Present site acquisition proposals and updates to senior management and our property board (typically monthly).

What we are looking for:
- 1-2 years' experience in property acquisitions, development, or property-related roles within roadside retail, fuel, QSR (quick service restaurant), convenience, or similar sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience negotiating land deals and leases.
- Established network of agents, developers, and landowners within the UK property market.
- Excellent financial appraisal and report writing skills, including proficiency in Excel and property valuation techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across Scotland.
