About the role:

The Credit Control Manager will lead the Credit Control and Sales Ledger functions across EG On the Move’s UK and French operations. Reporting to the Finance Director, the role will oversee credit management, collections, customer accounts, cash allocation and sales ledger processing.

As the business continues to expand through organic growth and acquisitions, the Credit Control Manager will play a critical role in maintaining a disciplined credit environment, minimising bad debt exposure and ensuring customer accounts are managed proactively. The role will be responsible for establishing and enforcing credit policies, assessing customer creditworthiness, monitoring customer payment performance and driving the timely collection of outstanding balances across the Group.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and develop the Credit Control and Sales Ledger teams, driving accountability, customer focus and continuous improvement.
  • Own the Group’s credit control strategy and cash collection performance, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debt and achievement of cash targets.
  • Establish and maintain strong credit policies, procedures and controls, including reviewing customer credit limits, payment terms, account openings and credit risk.
  • Monitor and manage customer payment performance and aged debt, proactively addressing overdue balances, bad debt exposure and high-risk accounts, including credit holds, revised terms and legal recovery where required.
  • Partner closely with Commercial and Operational teams to balance business growth and customer relationships with effective credit risk management.
  • Oversee the Sales Ledger and Order-to-Cash process, ensuring accurate and timely invoices, cash allocation, account reconciliations, billing queries, disputes and deductions.
  • Produce and review key credit and cash-flow performance reporting, including collections, overdue debt, disputes, credit exposure, bad debt and debtor forecasts, while maintaining strong financial controls and supporting audit requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement across Credit Control and Order-to-Cash, identifying automation and system opportunities and supporting acquisitions, integrations and wider business growth.
