About the role:

 

We are looking for a Finance Manager to lead the financial oversight of all overhead functions across the business and provide strategic support to senior leadership. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring robust financial management, delivering accurate reporting, and driving improvements in processes and controls.

 

You will manage a small but highly capable finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on position that blends technical expertise with leadership, requiring the ability to manage day-to-day operations while also influencing long-term business performance.

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Lead the timely and accurate preparation of management accounts, including profit & loss statements and balance sheet reporting.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of management accountants, supporting both performance and professional growth.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the finance function.
  • Take full ownership of the end-to-end financial management of all overheads, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in reporting.
  • Enhance overhead reporting and cost allocation methodologies, driving greater transparency and insight for decision-making.
  • Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are complete, accurate, and fully investigated where discrepancies arise.
  • Support both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and strong financial controls around overheads.
  • Contribute to the integration of future acquisitions into Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring seamless financial alignment.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders, operational teams, and senior colleagues.
  • Analyse variances between actual results and forecasts, providing clear explanations and actionable recommendations.

What we are looking for:

 

  • Fully qualified - ACA/ACCA/CIMA with at least 5 years of experience in Industry 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in financial software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP or similar) and MS Excel (advanced level)
  • Commercially astute with a proactive mindset
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
  • Exposure to cost transformation or efficiency programme
  • Experience of leading a team and collaborating with wider stakeholders
