About the role:

We’re looking for an influential and insight‑led Head of Commercial Finance to lead our commercial finance strategy across all countries and trading operations at EG On the Move. You will head up our Finance Business Partnering community across the UK and EU, ensuring consistent, high‑quality commercial insight, strong financial challenge, and robust performance management. You’ll work closely with the Head of FP&A to ensure country‑level performance, risks, and opportunities are clearly understood and accurately reflected in consolidated forecasts, reporting, and executive packs. This is a fundamental leadership role focused on shifting Finance from pure reporting to true value creation, embedding a commercial mindset, elevating decision support, and enhancing the impact of business partnering across the business.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the commercial finance agenda across all countries, providing clear insight on revenue, margin, costs and profitability, turning performance data into actionable recommendations and influencing strategic and trading decisions.
  • Support pricing, investments, strategic initiatives and operational changes through robust analysis and modelling.
  • Lead and develop Finance Business Partners across the UK & EU, driving high‑quality, insight‑led business partnering, coaching the team to improve commercial acumen, storytelling and stakeholder impact, and ensuring consistency across markets.
  • Oversee country performance reviews, ensuring strong understanding of variances, KPIs and key drivers, while providing forward‑looking insight, scenario modelling and decision support to senior leaders.
  • Drive continuous improvements in forecasting accuracy and relevance.
  • Work closely with the Head of FP&A to align country insight with group reporting, ensuring forecasts, risks and opportunities are accurately reflected in consolidated plans and executive packs, and contributing commercial narratives for board, executive and investor reporting.
  • Lead country budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring outputs are robust, realistic and aligned to strategic priorities, challenging assumptions and ensuring consistency across submissions.
  • Act as a senior partner to country and functional leaders, providing constructive challenge and supporting delivery of commercial objectives, representing Commercial Finance in senior forums with clarity and influence.
  • Improve commercial reporting, analysis and data quality in partnership with FP&A and BI teams, enhancing tools, automation and processes while embedding best practice across regions.
