About the role:

As a Management Accountant, you’ll play a key part in driving insight, clarity, and confidence across the organisation. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of producing accurate and meaningful monthly management accounts, leading balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting key financial reporting activities. This is a role where you won’t just report the numbers, you’ll help influence decisions, strengthen financial integrity, and contribute to continuous improvement across the function. What you’ll do:

• Assist in the production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Complete detailed balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are reviewed and discrepancies resolved.
• Investigate variances between actuals and budgets, providing explanations and recommendations where necessary.
• Assist in preparing reports for senior management, offering insights into financial performance.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure all work adheres to internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards.
• Work closely with colleagues in Finance and other departments to align financial data with business activities.
• Provide support for ad hoc projects, queries, and reporting requests as directed by the senior finance team.

What we are looking for:

• Part-qualified or working towards an accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
• Experience in a similar accounting role, including management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong financial systems capability with solid Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a bonus with some knowledge of process improvement and systems optimisation.
• Excellent analytical skills, problem‑solving ability, and a keen eye for detail.
• Experience in a multi‑site or retail environment is desirable
