About the role:

The Office Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, tidy, hygienic and safe working environment at EG On the Move Waterside Head Office. The role includes cleaning office areas and shared facilities, replenishing supplies, following health and safety procedures, and reporting any maintenance issues or hazards. You will work reliably and discreetly, helping create a welcoming environment for colleagues and visitors.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential to become permanent, subject to business needs and individual performance. The working hours are 8:00am to 1:00pm, Monday to Friday.

What you’ll do:

• Clean and maintain designated areas, including offices, meeting rooms, reception areas, kitchens and washrooms, in accordance with agreed schedules and quality standards, replenishing essential consumables as required.
• Prepare and maintain meeting rooms and communal areas, ensuring they are tidy, presentable and ready for use.

• Carry out periodic deep-cleaning duties as required, including cleaning skirting boards, fixtures, furnishings and other areas not covered by routine cleaning schedules.
• Complete assigned tasks within agreed timescales, prioritising workloads effectively, maintaining consistent standards and responding to reasonable ad hoc cleaning requests.
• Use cleaning products, equipment and materials safely and in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions, COSHH requirements and workplace procedures.
• Comply with health, safety, hygiene, waste-handling and security procedures, including the safe storage of cleaning products and equipment after use.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in a clean, safe and serviceable condition, store it securely and report any faults, damage or need for repair or replacement.
• Report spillages, hazards, damage, maintenance issues, low stock and other concerns promptly to the appropriate person.
• Follow company sustainability initiatives, including waste segregation, recycling and the responsible use of cleaning materials, water and other resources.

What we are looking for:

• Experience in office, commercial or similar cleaning, or a willingness to learn.
• Reliable, punctual and able to complete tasks to an agreed schedule.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining clean, hygienic and presentable spaces.
• Ability to follow instructions, cleaning schedules and health and safety procedures.
• Able to work independently, manage time effectively and maintain a professional, respectful and confidential approach in an office environment.
