About the role:
We are seeking a Payment Technology Specialist who will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of payment technology and merchant services across EG On The Move. This role is responsible for ensuring payment systems run smoothly, securely, and efficiently, supporting both internal stakeholders and external partners.
This role will also provide IT support for the fuel card platform, helping to maintain system integrity, resolve technical issues, and support continuous improvement across payment technologies.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and an interest in payment systems and technology to contribute to a critical area of the business.
What you’ll do:
- Raise, amend, and track new Merchant IDs (MIDs) and merchant service requests with Elavon, American Express, and fuel card providers.
- Manage ordering, replacement, and returns of payment terminals and related equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of merchant sites, terminal estate, and associated payment configuration. Administer and support the fuel card software platform, ensuring data accuracy and system integrity
- Analyse transaction gateways and associated costs to identify savings opportunities.
- Monitor and report on court services costs and ensure timely payments.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payment records and supplier invoices.
- Manage PCI DSS compliance status, ensuring all systems and processes meet security standards.
- Understand and complete CAVe (Card Acquiring and Verification) forms and other regulatory documentation.
- Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to resolve payment-related issues.
- Provide support and training to colleagues on payment systems and procedures.
- Assist in the onboarding of new payment tools and technologies.

- Proven experience in payment processing, finance operations, or card services.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with PCI compliance and fuel card systems.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software platforms.
